Cod Liver Oil for Hair Growth

During my freshman year of college I discovered the supplement cod liver oil. I wasn't a big fan of taking supplements some years ago because I hate swallowing pills and most dietary supplements are not only huge, but they stink and don't taste very well either. Since I was going to school in a different environment then what I was accustomed too and was going to be away from home for a long period of time, I thought it would be smart to take some sort of supplement to decrease my chances of getting sick from the cold weather and new environment. I decided to take cod liver oil. It was the smallest dietary supplement I had ever seen, it didn't have a nasty smell, and it didn’t taste funny either; but it did have a fishy after taste every now and then whenever I belched. If you can get past the fishy after taste you will absolutely love and enjoy the benefits and affects cod liver oil will have on your health, skin, and hair.

Cod liver oil can be taken in the form of a liquid or a capsule. I most definitely recommend the capsule form to avoid that horrible fishy taste but you would probably see faster, visible results if you take the liquid form. Cod liver oil has many health benefits and is rich in many nutrients including...

Vitamin A: Which is not only beneficial for healthy skin but also for maintaining a healthy immune system, eyesight,  helps with prevention of bacterial and viral infections, helps with the production of oil in your scalp, maintaining a healthy heart by reducing your chances of cardiovascular disease and will keep your hair looking moisturized and lustrous.

Vitamin D: Is known for its benefits in maintaining strong healthy bones but research is now showing that a healthy level of this vitamin can also prevent hair loss.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: With its anti-inflammatory properties it improves brain functionality, helps with lowering cholesterol, triglycerides levels, and blood pressure and relieves stress and symptoms of diseases such as arthritis. It also improves texture of hair and skin by moisturizing skin cells and hair follicles, helps with prevention of dry and brittle hair, helps reduce breakouts and promotes healthy skin tone and complexion, maintains skin elasticity as well as prevents the skin from sagging.

Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA): This is good for a healthy cardiovascular system, regulates inflammation to reduce pain in the body, acts as an anti-depressant to improve mood, and promotes weight loss.

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA): This is good for healthy nervous system development, skin, and eyesight.
